IAClinto-L

There is a mailing list for Clinton County, Iowa genealogy and family history research.  Questions about this list? Contact the list administrator at IAClinto-admin@rootsweb.com Please note:   I am not the list administrator, I just do this website.

Clinton, IA Resources at Rootsweb. Find or submit related websites, search WorldConnect Family Trees, the SSDI, other Projects, Transcriptions, and Primary Records at Rootsweb, and the x Message Board (and variants).

There are many, many more lists you can join --

Mailing lists can be so helpful in answering questions and helping you find information.  There are lists for almost every surname imaginable, every location in the world and for every genealogy subject you can think of from very general, such as beginning genealogy, to very specific, such as the descendants of only a specific person.  There is even one for those who believe their ancestors came from another planet!

Other Iowa Lists

Check out the Archives -- ASAP!

The best part is the fact that most of these lists are archived.  That means you can search through messages since the list began, before you joined (or even had a computer) and see if anyone was looking for you before you were looking for them!  Not only can you search for surnames, you can search for cemeteries, cities, etc.

And of course, RootsWeb has mailing lists, but so do many other sites.  Cyndis List has a list and be sure to check out John Fuller's page.  There are also sites like OneList where you can set up your own mailing list or join one of the many there.  Family Tree Maker and the LDS Family Search sites also have mailing lists.

There are also chat room discussions you should check out.  Some are in conjunction with mailing lists.

I hope you will take advantage of these great resources.
