ILL AND INJURED

J. Harvey Sites, 714 South Seventh street, now is a surgical patient in Hines Veterans' hospital, Hines, Ill.

Mrs. D. A. Beckwith, 438 Eleventh avenue, South, continues seriously ill in Jane Lamb hospital.  No visitors are allowed.

Mrs. C. E. Morgan sustained a broken right arm yesterday when she fell in the back yard of her home at 417 North Second street.

BIRTHS

Mr. and Mrs. Francis Foster, 3103 Roosevelt street, are parents of a son, John David, born Tuesday in Mercy hospital.

Pfc. and Mrs. George Mays, Jr., are parents of a son born Jan. 23 in City Center, Kans.  Pfc. Mays, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Mays, Sr., Beaver Island, is with a tank battalion in Belgium.

Maj. and Mrs. J. R. Campbell are the parents of a son, Edward Robert Campbell, born last night in Schick General hospital.  Mrs. Campbell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Blossfeld, of Bellevue, returned Sept. 1, 1944, from 19 months front line overseas duty as a nurse.  The former Miss Marlbell Blossfield received her training in Mercy hospital here.  Maj. Campbell, an army psychiatrist, now is serving in Southern France.

THEFT REPORTED

Mrs. Dorothy Burman, 326 Fifth avenue, South, complained that her garage had been entered and gasoline siphoned from her car.  None of the contents of the garage were disturbed, she said.

COURTHOUSE BRIEFS

A marriage license was issued yesterday to Clifford Ray Everson and Alice Mae Piper, both of Clinton.

Mrs. Clara Densmore obtained a divorce from George E. Densmore in district court yesterday.  She was given custody of their son and $5 a week support money for the child.

Mrs. Margaret H. Cooper has filed suit for divorce charging Arthur B. Cooper with cruelty.  The couple married Oct. 21, 1944.  Mrs. Cooper seeks permission to resume the name of Flood.

FIREMEN ANSWER CALL

Chimney sparks caused a minor roof fire at the Stanley Phillips home, 408 Third avenue, South, about 10:45 a.m. today.

ELWOOD BRIEFS

Mrs. George Hamilton has returned home after spending several weeks with her husband in the east.  Pvt. George Hamilton has been stationed at Camp Campbell, Ky., but is now at point of embarkation.

The Farmers' Union and Women's auxiliary will meet Friday in the home of Mr. and Mrs Orville Schoenthaler, with Mr. and Mrs. Randall Schepers as assisting host and hostess.

Miss Myrl Scheppers is home from Lost Nation, where she has been employed at the Coop store.

Charlotte Benton was hostess to members of the Michigan club in her home recently.
