Rev. H. E. Prell went to Grand Mound Tuesday. Eli Peterson went to Clinton on business Tuesday.
John Wagner transacted business in Clinton Wednesday. Wm. Pye was a Grand Mound business caoll Thursday.
C. J. Dressen made a business trip to Clinton Wednesday. Mrs. Dan Alexander went to Grand Mound Monday on business.
Al Dieckmann, of Wheatland, was seen on our streets Tuesday. Martin Neff and Leonard Kuebler transacted business in DeWitt Thursday.
Mrs. Geo. Hayes and Miss Carrie Handt went to Wheatland on business Monday. John Kueld, of O'Brien county, Ia, is visiting with his brother Gus south of town.
Geo. Thoeming and Frank Witte, of Wheatland, transacted business here Tuesday. R. H. Mueller and wife, of Ormsby, Minn., are here visiting with the Muetlet family.
Miss Clara Edelman, of Plankinton, S. D., is visiting friends and relatives in and around Calamus. Miss May Wendell, of Grand Mound, made her regular trip to Calamus Tuesday as instructor of music.
Mr. Poland, of Iowa City came here Thursday to visit his daughterEdna at the J. F. Mueller home.  Lucy both returned to their home in Iowa City Friday. The past week has been a fairly good one for the growing crops and oats are beginning to head nicely while the sun is making the corn grow and look fine.
About one hundred from here went to Wheatland the 3rd and 4th to celebrate and about seventy five went to Grand Mound the 4th.  A good many from here drove to both places.
