Original Land Entries

This is from a microfilm at the Clinton Library titled "Original Entries Index by Township & Range 1838-1845".  The information listed includes:

Part of Section, Section, Township, Range, Acres, 100ths, Dollars & Cents, Name of Purchaser, Date of Sale, Number of Receipt & Certificate of Purchase, To Whom Patented, Date of Patent, Where Recorded (Vol. & Page).

In most cases the Name of Purchaser and To Whom Patented are the same.  We will put online here the Name of Purchaser, (To whom patented also, if different), the Date of Sale and the Number of Receipt & Certificate of Purchase.  There are also swamp lands listed on the microfilm which are not listed here.

At the beginning of the register is the following note:

"Entries which are followed thus "1000D" by the letter D were made at Dubuque --- Swamp selections marked thus "Pat." are patented by the State to Clinton County ----  For swamp selections not patented see Report of Reg. State S. O. of 1875."
