Irad is listed in the 38th Iowa Infantry, Company E as being a
deserter before muster.
Stacey Gossling, a
caretaker for the Pioneer Cemetery where he is buried was
curious and researched his military record. She found that
Mr Fuller did serve but went to Minnesota. He enlisted
with the 10th MN Infantry company C, also served with the 3rd MN
and an Illinois unit before mustering out at Fort Snelling in
Minnesota in August of 1865. Irad's military documents are
shown below.
