Lewis Class of 1928 Holds Reunion

The annual reunion of the 1928 graduating class of Lewis High School was held at Van's Chat & Chew Sunday afternoon.

The class has been holding reunions since 1934 and plans were made for the 50th observance next year. It will be held at Van's May 28. This date was selected because of the Lewis alumni banquet which is held regularly during the Memorial Day weekend.

The committee in charge will be Irene Wissler, Genevieve Grulke, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Ackerman.

Members of the class present for the Sunday reunion were George Conn, Lyle and Ruth Johnson, Howard Palmer and wife of Glenwood, Rex Davis and wife of Nodaway, Helen (Johnke) Lowe and husband of Adair, Leona (Weppler) Wohlenhaus and husband and Ross and Velma (Bees) Ackerman of Griswold, George (Harmon) Nelson and husband and Beatrice (Stevens) Hancock and husband of Lewis, Genevieve Grulke and Irene (Mauk) Wissler of Atlantic.

Teachers present were Fred Hilton of Burt and Berniece (Ploghoff) Corrigan of Guthrie Center.

Letters were read from Pauline Tewksbury of Shenandoah, a teacher and from Mildred (Kaiser) Dory of Rogers, Ark., and Beryl (Breckerbaumer) Bard of Palisdade, Neb. Supt. Clarence Olson of Bondurant sent a news clipping about the 50th wedding anniversary he and his wife Hazelle, observed last June 19.

George Conn and Lyle and Ruth Johnson were the committee for the Sunday reunion.
