Per The Atlantic News Telegraph article, June 13, 1957, page 3: "The 15th anniversary reunion of the Atlantic high school class of 1842 last weekend was attended by 48 members and their families and five faculty members. The former teachers of the class attending were Cleo Rayl, Marian Munn Templeman, Helen Nelson, Mrs. H. M. Boorman and Mrs. and Mrs. G. G. Knipfer of Sioux City. A social gathering was held Saturday evening at the Moose lodge and a family picnic was held at Sunnyside park Sunday noon.
Harvey Wissler of Nevada, president of the class, presided at a short business meeting at which Don Crane was elected president, Mrs. Calvin Knop, vice-president, Mrs. Kennard Kennedy, secretary and Ralph Norman, treasurer. John Waters, Helen Uecker and Frank Herbert were named as the arrangements committee for the 20th reunion in 1962.
Attending from out-of-town were Avis Nelson of Omaha, Margaret Iebsen Gustafson of Greenfield, Maurice Iebsen of Des Moines, Paul Waters of Rossie, Donald Joyce of Denver, Shirley Shepperd Butler of Council Bluffs, Harvey Wissler of Nevada, Stanley Schafer of Villisca, Dorothy Voggesser Lane of Des Moines, Betty Henningsen Hare of Kansas City, Maurice Carey and Beverly Rowe Myers of Omaha, Elaine Swagel Sivers of Oakland, Gail L. Hansen of Woodward and Dorothy Moore Luke of Augusta, Ga. Others were present from Avoca, Exira, Brayton, Marne, Griswold, Adair, Anita, Wiota, Griswold and Atlantic."
