The Atlantic High School class of 1931 held its 50th reunion Saturday at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club, with 50 persons, including 28 class members, attending.
Guests were seated at round tables centered with yellow daisies and baby's-breath. The speaker's table was decorated with a large yellow daisy mum for a centerpiece.
Fern Cartwright Christensen and Leota Stamp Anderson, co-chairmen of the event, were presented corsages of yellow roses and daisies. Dale Campbell Dunham and Alice Lindeman Downs greeted guests.
Bruce Pellett and Hazel Trainer Comes were in charge of registering guests, and Gordon Galiher and Violet Spies Blake gave each guest a name tag. Mrs. Marjorie Bond of Cumberland provided music for the cocktail and dinner hour.
The Rev. Fred Rowley of Pulaski gave the invocation and a memorial for the deceased members of the class.
Charles Whitmore of Rock Island, Ill., was the master of ceremonies, and introduced class members by telling of their activities in high school. Members responded with interesting facts of their lives since graduation.
Virginia Neary Spiker read letters from members who were unable to attend including Marjorie Pellett Thomas of Vancouver, Wash., Helen Asay Solmon of Lutherville, Md., Thelma Odem McClendon of San Diego, Calif., Viola Geidel Reents of Atlantic, Helen Kohl Baird of Lakewood, Colo., Grace Trailer Noonan of Peoria, Ill., and Martha Zell Omann of Manson, a former teacher.
A continental breakfast was held Sunday morning, June 14, at Odin's.
Special guests at the reunion were Marjorie Earl Camblin of Atlantic and Helen Larsen Wagner of Des Moines, former teachers.
