Main Street West, Griswold
Used divided back postcard of Main Street West, Griswold, Iowa. Addressed to Miss Rose Holumb, Mason City, Iowa, 802 N. Mich, and postmarked at Griswold, Iowa, ?? 18, ?? 4PM. Handwritten message is dated Dec. 17, 1912 and reads: "Dearest Friend: Hello there. How are you? Hope fine like myself. We got here O.K., had a fine trip, this is a fine town. Business has been good so far. Chris went to Red Oak with 4 fellers, this evening we have 10 horses and a new Regal car. Echo soon." Signed Mrs. C. K. Thompson, Box 56.
Below, the back of another identical (duplicate) divided back postcard of the Main Street West, Griswold, Iowa view, addressed to Miss Merca(?) Yaw, Diagonal, Iowa. Postmark unreadable. Handwritten message is dated Nov. 15, 1912 and reads: "Dear Merca(?), It is just a month today since I come to Lyman well hope you are well I have been pretty sick but am some better. I think I will be all rite in a few days. Atha(?) said to tell you to come up and help her yourself(?) come rit soon. Well this is all the news for this time. I will wt to Max? tomorrow ??? Lib".
