NEWLON'S GROVE CEMETERY
in Noble Township, Section 1
Newlon's Grove cemetery is located in Noble township near the east center or the west ½ of section 1. It is on the west side of the road, 2 ½ miles east and ½ mile north of Lyman. It originally contained one acre given by Herman Liston. Ernrst Sothman later gave another acre making the total area 2 acres. It is maintained by taxes and donations. Among the first burials were Carrie Smith on November 20, 1870 and William Lloyd , August 25, 1873.
The cemetery was first recorded in 1978 by Wilma Simonds and Gladys Hanssen. It was updated in 1986 by Mr. & Mrs. Delbert Christianson. It was recently walked and photographed in August, 2013, by Carolyn DeLay and Mary Hoegh. This is a project of the Cass County Genealogical Society.
