William Troutman, 19, Coon Rapids, Injured Fatally
Car Rolls After Missing Curve Near Angus, Ia.
Dies in Perry Hospital;
Companion, Robert Alex, 17, Injured Severely

William Larry Troutman, 19, of Coon Rapids, was injured fatally and his companion hurt when Troutman's car missed a curve on Highway 14 near Angus in south-west Boone county early Saturday. The Coon Rapids youth, son of Mr. and Mrs.  W. L. Troutman Sr., of Coon Rapids, was driver of a 1950 Mercury that turned over 2 times, Kenneth Bowies, state highway patrolman, reported. Die in Perry Hospital. The Troutman youth was taken to the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, where he died about four hours after the accident as a result of a brain concussion and severe chest injuries, Robert Alex, son of Raymond Alex, was reported in fair condition at a Perry hospital. He received severe throat cuts. The car, southbound, was demolished.The accident occurred just a mile north of the Dallas county line on the curve known as the Angus curve. It was the first fatality on Boone highways this year.

Home from College the Troutman youth had come home Friday from Storm Lake, where he was a student at Buena Vista College, He was born Nov. 3, 1936, at Woodward, Iowa. In 1938 the family moved to the Coon Rapids vicinity . The home is on a farm southwest of Coon Rapids on Route 3 . Besides his parents, William Larry and Jennie Noland Troutman, he is survived by four sisters and two brothers; Peggy, Mary, Gary, Carol, Janice and James Michael, all at home.

The body is at the Anderson Funeral Home in Coon Rapids, awaiting completion of arrangements.
