Brent Charles Luscombe, 51, of Thornton, died Monday, January 29, 2018, at Hancock County Health System in Britt. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake, with Rev. Jason Miller officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Klemme. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Family suggests memorial contributions to Michelle Luscombe or to a charity of one’s choice.

Brent was born on December 25, 1966, the son of Guy and Marlys “Joanne” (Neuberger) Luscombe in Des Moines. He married Michelle Stout on April 27, 1991, at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. Brent graduated from Hoover High School in 1985 in Des Moines. He worked around agriculture all his life while raising livestock, crops, and applicating commercial fertilizer. He was also in the Air National Guard until being medically discharged.

Brent was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake and the Iowa Pork Producers. Family was most important to him and he cherished his time spent with them all. He had many wonderful memories including rides in the tractor with his children, coaching their sports teams, playing card games, having family cookouts, swimming in the pool, and family pranks. He also enjoyed farming, classic cars, fishing and boating with his family, watching NASCAR and playing poker.

Brent is survived by his wife, Michelle Luscombe of Thornton; three children, Whitney (Kevan) Hoefling of Thornton, Brandon (Stephanie) Luscombe of Klemme, and Samantha Luscombe of Ames; an honorary granddaughter, Skylar Neuberger; two siblings, Lana Luscombe of Des Moines and Ryan Luscombe of Kansas City, MO; a sister-in-law, Melody Thome of Urbandale; a brother-in-law, Mike Stout of Clear Lake; two nieces, Breanna Luscombe and Miranda Stout; a nephew, Brody Thome; and many aunts and uncles, including a special uncle, Dave Neuberger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Joanne Luscombe; and mother-in-law, Judy Neuberger.
