Judy was born in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest (Mick) and Mary Mae (Enfield) Nelson. She graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1963. Following high school she continued her education to become a nurse, but during this time she was married and had children. As a single mom while raising her children, she returned to school to finish her RN nursing degree. She worked on 6 West at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa, Mason City, for over 33 years. During her nursing career she went above and beyond to show her compassion, whether it be physical, emotional, or spiritual. It was evident from the outpouring of love from her fellow nurses and doctors that came to visit on her journey home to the Lord.

She married David M. Neuberger Aug. 16, 1991 at Lakeside Church in Clear Lake, Iowa. They created a life of love, adventure, and peace as shown through their joining of their families, their travels all over, and their nights by the fire pit. Judy loved spoiling her grandchildren and making them feel important. Judy and her son, Mike, had a special bond and spent time every week doing activities together such as church and going out for dinner. She also enjoyed quilting, gardening and going out on the deck with Dave in the morning, sitting in the swing and drinking her coffee in the morning. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where she enjoyed her church circle, doing communion visitation to the shut-ins for the church and the Hatti Medical Mission trip that she went on.

Judy is survived by her husband, David Neuberger, Garner, Iowa; six children Michelle (Brent) Luscombe, Thornton, Iowa, Melody Thome, Urbandale, Iowa, Mike Stout, Clear Lake, Iowa, Julia (Lauren) Trembath-Neuberger, Seattle, Washington, Nicole (Greg) Willson, Waldorf, Minnesota and Johan Neuberger, Boone, Iowa; daughter-in-law Kerry Neuberger, Garner, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; brother David (Gloria) Nelson, Williamsburg, Virginia; special friend Linda Thompson, Mason City, Iowa; Aunts Maxine Enfield, Stillwater, Minnesota and Dorothy Nelson, Mission, Texas and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by parents; son David Neuberger II and two brothers Larry and Richard Nelson.
