August 6, 1904 --- April 23, 1913

Silas Weland died at the home of his parents in this city Wednesday April 23rd being eight years of age. He was a young fellow of rugged health until having an attack of measles which developed complications that baffled all medical skill and everything love could suggest for his relief. The funeral was held Saturday in the Samuel Lutheran church at 2 o'clock after a short service at the home. Rev. Spande conducted the services. The burial was in Rose Hill cemetery. The sorrowing parents have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.

Silas Weland, the ten year old son of Thomas and Mrs. Weland, died yesterday. This family are having more than their share of affliction, for they lost a daughter last week. They have the sympathy of all.
