BRITT, IA - Funeral services for Edward Mehl, 76, Britt area farmer who died Thursday at a Mason City hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the United Methodist Church in Stilson. Born Jan. 1, 1894 in Rosendal, Hardanger, Norway, he came to the United States when he was 19 years old. Jan. 22, 1921, he was married to Anna Peterson in Kanawha. They farmed near Fonda and Kanawha before moving to Britt. The Rev. Paul V. Clements, pastor of the United Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery, Kanawha. Friends may call at the Boughton Funeral Home from noon Saturday until Monday morning. Mr. Mehl is survived by his wife, two sons, Glenn and Norman, both of Britt, two granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
