Russel Dean Tebben, the son of Tony and Doris (Waddingham) Tebben was born in Ventura, Iowa on May 21, 1933. He attended and graduated from Corwith High School in 1952. Russel was inducted into the United States Army on November 18, 1953, and was honorably discharged on October 28, 1955. During that time his job was with the military police and as a mechanic. He also served with his brother Robert in Korea. His military awards include the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.

On June 22, 1958 Russel was united in marriage to Dona (Bonnstetter) at St. John's Lutheran Church, Corwith. From 1961 - 1963 he and Dona lived in California, where Russel worked as a Los Angeles Police Officer. In 1963 they moved back to Iowa and he began farming and carpentry work. He would later start Tebben Construction Company.

Russel was a great story teller. He loved to tell stories about his life, especially ones involving his brother's and him. Russel also enjoyed spending time with his family and used to follow the kid's sports. Above all else, he loved his family.

Russel Tebben died Sunday October 26, 2014, at Iowa Specialty Hospital, Clarion, he was 81. Russel is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dona Tebben; children, Paul (Tammy) Tebben and Denise (David) Tvedt; daughter-in-law, Cindy Tebben; grandchildren, Alexia, Talon, Bill, Megan (Andy) Vieira, Ryan (Kylene) Tvedt and Keenan; great-grandchildren, Abilyn, Myles, Ike and Freya; brother, Michael (Jan) Tebben; sisters-in-law, Kay Baker, Arlene Tebben and Norma Tebben, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard, Robert, Lenny, and Larry; sisters-in-law, Anne Tebben and Sharon Tebben; and his son Tony.
