Amy Louise Neuville was born September 30, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa to Wayne and Louise Opheim. She passed away in her home in Royal Oak, Michigan on January 8, 2010. She grew up in Stuart, Iowa, graduating from Stuart-Menlo High School in 1979, and then attended Iowa State University where she earned a BS degree in 1983. She worked in Des Moines at Thackary's Book Store and later at Borders. She then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan, receiving a Master's degree in 1995. Amy was employed at several places during and after her schooling, including Borders headquarters, University of Michigan Bentley Archives, WCC Library, General Motors Archives, Cranbrook School and J Store. On July 7, 2001 she was married to John Neuville and they made their home in Royal Oak. Amy loved libraries, museums and historical places, walking, clogging, quiet porches, watching nieces and nephews play, and Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is survived by her husband John Neuville, her parents, her brother John (Laura) Opheim, father-in-law Harlan (Jeanne) Neuville, sisters and brothers-in-law Theresa, Melissa, Elizabeth (Greg), Peter (Mary), Paul (Joan), James (Jennifer), Tricia (Dan), Margaret (Robert), and Mark (Deann). Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. There will be a memorial visitation Friday, January 29, 2010 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Royal Oak. Memorials to Gilda's Club Metro Detroit, 3517 Rochester Road, Royal Oak, MI 48073. Arrangements by Wm. Sullivan & Son Funeral Home, Royal Oak, Michigan.
