LeAnn K. Anderson, age 60, of Belmond, passed away Thursday July 31, 2014 at her home near Belmond. Memorial services for LeAnn K. Anderson will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday August 6, 2014 at the Dugger Funeral Home, 111 Luicks Lane South in Belmond. Burial will take place at a later date in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery near Garner. Visitation for LeAnn K. Anderson will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday August 6, 2014 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family wishes memorial may be made to the St. Jude Childrens Center for Medical Research.

LeAnn Kay, the daughter of Darold and RoseMae Rayhons Pletcher was born April 24, 1954 in Forest City. She grew up in Garner, where she attended school and graduated in 1972. LeAnn was united in marriage to George Anderson on October 23, 1981 in Kanawha, Iowa. The couple made their home in Belmond where they lived on an acreage west of town. Raising her family and caring for her home took most of her time, though she did take on a variety of jobs throughout the years - all working with people. LeAnn had an enormous zest for life and made her presence known by the attitude she put into every relationship. She was known as “Mom” by more than her own children and had a unique, dynamic personality. She loved to have fun and her laugh was infectious. LeAnn was definitely an avid animal lover and she also loved all types of music, but especially classic rock. LeAnn developed special relationships with all she encountered in recent years, both at the Cancer Center in Mason City and Hospice of Wright County

LeAnn is survived by her husband, George, children, Christian (Angie) of Belmond, Justin (Heather) of San Antonio, TX, Holly (Shane) of Eagle Grove, Jodi of Belmond, and Jamin (Holly) of Santa Barbara, CA. Thirteen grandchildren: Ian, Courtney, Nathan, Samantha, Dylan, Kaydee, Charlene, Jamin, Gage, Gabrielle, Olivia, Alexander and Julie. Five brothers and sisters: Lynn Pletcher of Sacramento, CA, Darla Pletcher of Garner, Perry Pletcher of Garner, Brad Pletcher (Joyce) of Garner, Brenda Stoner of Hills, and seven dogs: Piper, Joe, Maddie, Missy, Patch, Bella, and Fred. Also, numerous other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Linda, and a son, Ryan.
