Mrs. Katuin Dies at 76; Rites Tuesday

BRITT, IA — Mrs. Berend (Antje) Katuin, 76, died Friday at the Hancock Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Christian Reformed Church, Kanawha, preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home, Britt. The Rev. B. A. Rust and the Rev. Paul Holtrop will conduct the services, assisted by the Rev. George Abbas, St. Ann, Ill. Burial will be in the Kanawha cemetery.

Mrs. Katuin was born in Holland, the daughter of Harm and Geske Fokken DeGroot. She was married in Bellingwalde [Bellingwolde], Holland, July 12, 1902. They came to this country three years later. Survivors are five sons and four daughters, Mrs. Walter (Tillie) Peterson, Britt; Harm, Goodell; Mrs. Ed (Gertie) Abbas, Waverly; Albert. Klemme; Dick, Kanawha, Ben, Fairmont, Minn.; Mrs. Maynard (Jennie) Peterson, Farnhamville; Mrs. Peter (Anna) Paulson, Clarion; John, Britt; 31 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and brothers and sisters in Holland.
