August 31, 1848 -- October 19, 1931

George Dunfee was born in Monroe county Ohio, August 31, 1848 and later moved with his parents to Lawrence county, Ohio. He was united in marriage to Permilia Herman, [Harmon] April 24, 1870. They made their home there until 1905 when they moved to Corwith, Iowa. In 1920 with his wife and two sons he moved on to a farm one and a one half miles southwest of London where he lived up to the time of his death. His wife passed away January 7, 1922.

He is survived by nine children, Mrs. John McCarley of Glen Ohio, Mrs. John Earls of Britt, Ia., Clarence of Rockyford, Colo.; Mrs. Sara Wilson, Mrs. Ira Buning and John and Eunice of Corwith, Ia.; Shannon of Lyle township and Earl at home, also twenty-six grand children and seven great grandchildren.

Mr. Dunfee was an honest, patient and a home loving man, a good neighbor, loved and respected by all who knew him. A short service was conducted Wednesday morning, October 21 from his home by Rev. Carpenter, after which the body was taken to Corwith, Ia., where services were held in the Baptist church. Interment was in the Corwith cemetery beside his wife.

Mrs. Sarah Wilson and daughter, Mrs. Howard of Cedar Falls, and John and Esis Dunfee, Mrs. Ira Buning of Corwith Iowa came Monday, called here by the death of their father George Dunfee.
