February 10, 1849 -- January 7, 1922
Mrs. George Dunfee died at her home west of London at 7:26 a.m. January 7, 1922. Her death was caused by dropsy and a complication of diseases. All was done that living [loving] hands and medical aid could do to comfort her during her illness.
Permelia Harmon was born February 10, 1849 in Mage county Ohio. When a child she moved with her parents to Lawrence county, Ohio where she grew to womanhood, and from there moved to Galla county, Ohio. At the age of 21, April 24, 1870 she was united in marriage to George Dunfee. They went to Lawrence county Ohio and in 1905 they moved to Corwith, Iowa and in 1920 came to London, Minn.
She is survived by her husband and nine children, also 23 grandchildren and one great grand child. The children are; Mrs. John McCarley, Glenn Ohio, Mrs. John Earls, Britt Iowa, Mrs. Sarah Wilson, John and Entee Dunfee, Corwith Iowa, Mrs. Ira Bunting, Shannon, Clarence, and Earl Dunfee London, Minn. Elizabeth Dunfee died in infancy. Elmer Wilson, a grandson, died from wounds received in battle in France. Oley McCarthy died in camp at Sheridan, Ohio.
At the age of 18 she united with the Christian church in Ohio. She lived a devoted Christian life and was a kind and loving mother. She had a genial disposition and many friends will miss her.
