ROCKWELL, Iowa - Janyce F. Stromley, 56, of 218 4th St. S. Apt, 1, Rockwell, died Wednesday evening (March 8, 2000) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, March 11, at the Rockwell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Bruce Wittern officiating. Interment will be at the Amsterdam Cemetery in Kanawha. The family will great friends after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Janyce F. Stromley memorial fund. Fullerton Funeral Home of Rockwell is in charge of arrangements.

Janyce was born on Sept. 28, 1943, at Iowa City, one of nine children of Frank and Edna (Cowgill) Brand. She attended the Corwith schools and then Clear Lake High School. She always enjoyed working with older people and made that her life ambition. She had cared for the elderly, babysat and cleaned apartments in the Rockwell area for the past several years. Recently she enjoyed fishing for bullheads in the North Iowa area, bike riding while able, and playing cards such as Uno with her granddaughter and other relatives. She could be found playing basketball and in her early life she was a very graceful dancer.

She was united in marriage to Ronald A. Stromley on Dec. 12, 1959, in Austin, Minn. To this union was born one daughter. Those thankful in sharing Janyce's life include her mother, Edna Welshans, of Garner; one daughter, Kimberley Moffett; two grandchildren, Amanda and William Moffett, all of Rockwell; four sisters, Wavel and her husband, John Lichman, of Britt, Marvel Thompson, of Mason City, Sharon and her husband, Kenneth Jenkins, of Bay City, Wis. and Karen and her husband, K.J. Hueneman, of Garner; two brothers, Ronald and his wife, Darlene Brand, of Charles City and Robert and his wife, Ginger Brand, of Clear Lake; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; her stepfather, Albert Welshans; and two brothers, Richard and Larry Brand.
