John Tripp Rites Held Tuesday, February 25
John Tripp passed away Saturday, Feb. 22 [1941] at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hugh Gordon at Lucas, Iowa, after two weeks illness of pneumonia. The deceased was born at Argyle, Wis., on Nov. 20, 1875 and reached the age of 65 years, 3 months and 2 days. On Dec. 22, 1908 he was united in marriage to Etta Schnath of Britt, Iowa, who preceeded him in death August 28, 1917. To this union four children were born, all of whom survive.
Mr. Tripp is survived by three daughters, Mrs. L. E. Marks of Corwith, Mrs. Byron E. Price of Paulson, Mont., Mrs. Hugh Gordon, of Lucas. One son, Mr. Earnest Tripp of Lancaster, Wis. Three brothers, Norris, Milton, and Roy, all of Kanawha, Iowa. He is survived by eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
He was baptised at an early date, and later joined the Methodist church of Britt, Iowa. He lived a christian life, and was respected by all his friends for his good qualities of character. Funeral services were held from the Walters funeral home in Osceola, Iowa, Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. A. C. Calkins, and from Kanawha Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. J. F. Moore. Burial in the Kanawha cemetery.
