Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24 at Goodell United Methodist Church for William Benjamin Sandry, 80, who died at the Belmond Nursing Home on Sunday March 21. Rev. Don Griffin officiated. Burial was in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell. Fulton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

William Sandry was born December 10, 1901 near Belmond to Benjamin and Wilhelmina Alcharger Sandry. He attended the Goodell school. He married Tena Florence Gruis at Belmond on May 11, 1932, and they became parents of four children. They farmed in the Goodell area until his retirement about 15 years ago. Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister.

Surviving are his wife, Tena of Goodell; three sons, Donald and Marvin of Goodell and Calvin of Durant; one daughter, Sharon Schnell of Clarion; four grandchildren and one great grandchild, one brother, Francis Sandry of Belmond and one sister, Leona (Mrs. Edgar) Mayhew, Goodell.

Casket bearers were Dennis Barkema, Gerald Buck, Leo Kearney, Junior Mayhew, Clarence Sandry and Delbert Williams.
