Franklyn Buseman, 82, died Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center North Iowa in Mason City. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 13, at Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ in Klemme with Rev. Donna J. Buckman officiating. Music was provided by Margaret Tue, organist; Marilyn Janssen, vocalist. Ushers were Ron Kuhlers, Kirk Pearson, and Terry Woiwood. Casket bearers were Joel Back, Al Denny, Daryl Brager, Keith Williams, Robert Scott, and Brad Carolus. Interment was at Ell Township Cemetery at Klemme. Military rites were at graveside by American Legion Post 625.

Franklyn Buseman, the son of Henry and Margaret (Rhodes) Buseman was born February 16, 1918, on a farm south of Garner. He attended and graduated from Klemme High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1941, serving in the Army Air Corp. He departed for England in 1942, and re-enlisted in 1943. He returned to the United States in 1945. While on leave, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Back on June 14, 1945, at the Immanuel Reformed parsonage in Klemme. He was separated at the AAF Separation Base in Santa Ana, CA; on December 22, 1945. The Busemans farmed in the Goodell and Klemme areas, and retired to Belmond. They spent the past 30 winters in Weslaco, TX. Franklyn moved to the Prairie View Apartments in Garner in 1995. He was a member of the American Legion, served on the Klemme School Board and the Klemme Elevator Board, and was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Marilyn; brother, Francis Buseman; and a sister, Esther Schlawin; brother-in-laws, Art Schlawin and Albert Priebe. Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette and Harley Nuehring of Kanawha, Sheri and Jack Williams of Waukee; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian and Heather Nuehring of San Antonio, TX, Corey and Michelle Nuehring of Cedar Rapids, Meridie and Keith Williams of Waukee; great granddaughter, Caitlyn Grace; sister, Leona Priebe of Clear Lake; sister-in-law, Betty Buseman of Clear Lake.
