Ben Seebeck, 87, of Kanawha, died Friday (Feb. 25, 2000) at the Belmond Community Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church, with the Rev. G. David Daley officiating. Burial will be in the Amsterdam Township Cemetery near Kanawha. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ewing Dugger Funeral Home, Kanawha, and continue one hour prior to services at the church.

Ben, the son of Charles and Cora (Abbas) Seebeck, was born on April 12, 1912, near Kanawha, in Wright County. He received his education in the rural Wright County schools. He was united in marriage to Anna Folkerts Van Dusseldorp on Nov. 14, 1934, at the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church parsonage. The couple farmed in the Kanawha area for many years. He was a member of the Kanawha Christian Reformed Church. He was a farmer all his life, and enjoyed teaching his grandsons how to farm. He also enjoyed fishing, farming and visiting with his family and friends.

Ben is survived by his daughter, Connie and her husband, Don Melohn, of Fort Dodge; two grandsons, Mark and his wife, Bonnie, of Kanawha, and Ron and his wife, Susan, of Kanawha; one great granddaughter; two step great-grandchildren; three brothers, Henry and his wife, Tillie, of Britt, Clarence and his wife, Gen, of Britt, and George and his wife, Pearl, of Sunnyside, Wash.; one sister-in-law, Marian Seebeck, of Britt; one brother-in-law, Gerhard Prull, of Kanawha; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna, in August of 1985; two sisters, Cornelia in infancy, and Marie Prull (1991); two brothers, Charles (1985) and Louie (1996); and one sister-in-law, Gladys (1973.
