Louise C. Greiman, 89, of Garner, died Wednesday (Aug. 19, 1998) at Concord Care Center, Garner. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church, Garner, with the Rev. Darrell Weber officiating. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery, Garner. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the Cataldo Funeral Chapel, Garner.

Louise C. Greiman, the daughter of William Penn Edgar and Mysie (McCutcheon) Eckels, was born Dec. 4, 1908, at Goldfield. She attended school at Goldfield and Britt where she graduated with honors. She received her teaching certificate after attending Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls for two years. Louise taught in Geneva for two years and in Garner for 31 years until retiring in 1971. On Aug. 1, 1934, she was married to M.F. "Mike" Greiman at the Presbyterian parsonage in Goldfield. They made their home in Garner the rest of their lives. Due to ill health, she had resided at the Concord Care Center since 1992. She enjoyed her family, playing bridge, bird watching, knitting and reading. She was a member of Zion Evangelical & Reformed Church, the Women's Fellowship and had taught Sunday school. She also belonged to P.E.O., Garner Progressive Club and had served on the Garner Library Board for 24 years, the Hancock County Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Board and was a charter member of the Hancock County Historical Society.

She is survived by her son, Charles M. Greiman and his wife, Faye, of Garner; four grandchildren, Charles A. Greiman and his wife, Karen, of Clear Lake, and their children, Curtis, Logan and Sierra, and Dawn Angell and her husband, Ronald, of West Des Moines, and their children, Lauren, Brittany and Matthew, Mark Greiman, of Mason City, and Rachel Prohaska and her husband, Scott, of Ames, and their daughter, Olivia; a sister, Inez Bottaro and her husband, Alfred, of West Covina, Calif.; a brother, Forrest Eckels and his wife, Bernice, of Britt; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, M.F. "Mike" Greiman, March 23, 1993; her parents; a brother, Mervin Eckels; and a sister, Luella Belle Eckels.
