Rose Sylvia Bell, 91, died Monday, November 13, 2000, at USA Health Care Center in Dows. Funeral service s will be held Thursday, November 16, at Willim Funeral Home in Clarion. Father David Beckman of St. John's Catholic Church will officiate the 10:30 a.m. service. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 15, from 4-6 p.m. at Willim Funeral Home . Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Clarion.

Rose Sylvia Scheckel was born November 16, 1909, in Hampton, the daughter of Martin and Martha (Zeller) Scheckel She was raised and educated in the area of her birth Rose was united in marriage with John C. Bell on August 17, 1936, in Clarion. After their marriage, they lived on a farm near Clarion for about 14 years and then moved to Clarion. Rose was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Clarion.

Rose is survived by daughters, Connie Anderson and husband, Lowell of Clarion, Kay Wihmek and husband, Jim of Des Moines; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one sister, Alvina Scheckel of Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John C. Bell, son, Charlie Bell, brother, Jerome; and one sister, Frances Porter.
