Nina Elizabeth Oberton Corwin

Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, from Slininger's in Grand Junction for Nina E. Corwin, 84, longtime Grand Junction resident. The Rev. Frank L. Considine, minister of First United Methodist Church of Grand Junction, officiated. Mrs. Wayne Emmett was organist. Casket bearers were Wayne Emmett, Dick Kennedy, John Nelson, Don Cronin, Roger Loof and Dale Davis. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion.

Nina Elizabeth, only child of Lylia May and Byron Henry Oberton, was born Feb. 6, 1904, at Clarion. She received her education and grew to womanhood there. On August 4, 1928 Nina was united in marriage with Marion Earl Corwin of Grand Junction at Bardwell, KY. The couple resided in Grand Junction. Nina was a charter member of the Grand Junction Garden Club and at one time held a certificate as a flower show judge. She was also a member of the Golden Age Club.

Mrs. Corwin died Tuesday, May 23, in Jefferson. She was preceded in death by her parents and in 1952 by her husband, Earl.
