Lillian Marguerite (Stumpf) Paine
July 25, 1912 --- April 22, 1989

Lillian Marguerite Stumpf, daughter of John and Elsie Wilcox Stumpf was born July 25, 1912 on the family farm northwest of Webster City. She was educated at Eagle Grove and graduated in 1930.

On August 20, 1930, she married Donald R. Paine at Eagle Grove. The couple farmed in Hamilton County until 1971 when they moved to Webster City. Mrs. Paine was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Freemont Birthday Club, and the Hamilton County Farm Bureau.

Lillian M. Paine, 76, Webster City, died Saturday evening, April 22, 1989, at the Hamilton County Hospital where she had been a patient for three days. She had resided at Crestview Manor for the past year.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister; and her husband. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Donnabelle) Gilbertson, West Des Moines; Mrs. Garry (Marguerite) Staley, Webster City; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City until 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), April 26, at 10:30 a.m., at Asbury United Methodist Church, Webster City, with the Rev. Vernon Sorensen officiating. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City.
