Mildred Josephine (Richardson) Sorensen Krips
February 5, 1910 --- July 11, 1998

Mildred Josephine Richardson was born on February 5, 1910, on a farm near Goldfield and was the daughter of Mary Oleson and Joseph Richardson. She was raised in the area of her birth and graduated from Goldfield High School. She then attended Business College in Des Moines and later worked at the Goldfield State Bank. On June 8, 1929, she married Clarence Sorensen in Des Moines. They farmed near Goldfield. Clarence died in 1975. She married Leo C. Krips on August 15, 1981, at Pocahontas, where they made their home. She was a member of the Goldfield United Methodist Church; and P. E. L. L. Club.

Mildred Sorensen Krips died July 11, 1998, in Pocahontas at the age of 88.

Survivors include her husband, Leo of Pocahontas: one daughter, Marjorie Frakes of Goldfield: a daughter-in-law, Shirley Sorensen Campbell of Clarion; 4 step-sons, Raymond Krips of Pocahontas, Bill Krips of Placerville; Calif, Dennis and Richard Krips of Havelock; 4 step-daughters, Mary Ann DeWall of Havelock, Sharon Schrunk of Omaha, Neb., Janice DeWall of Omaha, Neb., and Barbara Flaherty of Pocahontas; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren: 20 step-grandchildren, and a sister, Evelyn DeWitt of Winter Haven, Fla. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband; son, Lynn in 1992; 2 brothers, Clifton and Raynard; and 4 sisters, Ruth Larson, Jessie Beisell, Charlotte Whyte, and Fern Freeman.

The funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 13. 1998, at the United Methodist Church in Goldfield with the Reverend Karen Dearchs officiating. Burial was held at Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
