Mildred Etta “Mickey” (Halgrim) Sorensen
January 28, 1910 --- October 8, 2000

Mildred “Mickey” Etta Halgrim, was born January 28, 1910 to Ephraim and Mattie (Stockdale) Halgrim on a farm near Eagle Grove. She attended Willow School in Humboldt County and then attended Eagle Grove High School. In 1930 she married Hans C. Sorensen. He passed away on Aug. 2, 1968. They lived on a farm near Goldfield and raised registered Belgian horses. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield.

Mildred “Mickey” Sorensen died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at the U.S.A. Health Care Center in Clarion at the age of 90.

She is survived by her children, Earl (Bud) Sorensen and wife, Joy, of Goldfield; Don (Dunnie) Sorensen and wife Jill, of Goldfield; Carmen (Dee) Halverson and husband Carl of Eagle Grove; Victoria (Vicki) Reyna and husband Richard of Higginsville, Mo., and Hollace (Holly) Upchurch and husband Brent of Ames; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two sisters: Thelma Ventling of Webster City, and Delores Buhner, of Eagle Grove, a daughter-in-law, Arlis Sorensen, of Goldfield; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Kent Sorensen; a daughter Karen Jeanne Evans; two sisters: Helene Halgrim and Ovedia Morgan, and two great-grandchildren in infancy: Hans M. and Patrick M. Reyna.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 12, at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with the Rev. Ellen Brantley officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield. The Willim Funeral Home in Eagle Grove was in charge of the arrangements.
