Mary A. Thebiay Wasem
17 May 1874 — 20 Oct 1961

Mary A. Wasem, 87, Harrisburg. Died yesterday forenoon at a Canton hospital after a brief Illness.

Born May 17, 1874, at Amboy, Ill. She moved to Eagle Grove, la., at the age of 3. Grew to womanhood there. Mary Thebiay married William Wasem Jan. 8, 1893, at Eagle Grove. Came to Harrisburg in 1900, residing there since. Was president of W. H. Wasem Land & Cattle Co.

Survived by 1 daughter, Mrs. Fern Bertolero, Rapid City; 1 granddaughter, 2 great-granddaughters. Her husband preceded her in death in 1939.

Services will be Monday, 2 p.m., at Miller Funeral Home, Lisle Brown officiating. Interment in Woodlawn. Casket will be open until the service hour, then closed.

Relatives received word Friday of the death of Mrs. Mary Wasem of Harrisburg, S.D.

Funeral services were held in Sioux Falls, S.D. Monday afternoon. Mrs. Wasem is survived by one daughter Mrs. Fern Bertolero of Harrisburg, S.D. and the following sisters, Mrs. Delia [Della] Bulis and Mrs. Tressie Nelson of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Jennie Weaver of Culver City, Calif, and Mrs. George Lewis of Willmar, Minn.
