Burial services for Alfred Trausch, 71, of Clarion were held here Wednesday morning at Calvary cemetery. Mr. Trausch, a former Eagle Grove resident, died Sunday night. Funeral services for Alfred Trausch, 71, retired Clarion farmer were held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. John's Catholic church, Clarion. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. J. E. Slowey was in charge.

Mr. Trausch was born in Illinois and came to Iowa in 1901. He was preceded in death by his wife. Surviving are four sons and four daughters, Francis, Everett and Elizabeth of Clarion, Richard of Kanawha, Donald of Belmond, Mrs. Kirk Lewis of New Richmond, Wis., Mrs. Howard Studer of Des Moines and Mrs. Lloyd Steffenson of River Falls, Wis. Other survivors are 16 grandchildren; two brothers and three sisters, Steven of Eagle Grove, Emil of Alturas, Calif., Mrs. Clara Rink of California, Mrs. Vern Hay of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Harry DeMartini of San Francisco, Calif.

Alfred Nickolas Trausch, son of Stephen and Catherine Trausch, was born May 19, 1888 near Chenoa, Illinois, and died July 27, 1959 after a short illness. He came to Iowa in 1901 with his parents, as a young boy and they settled on a farm in Wright county near Eagle Grove. He farmed in this vicinity until he retired and moved to Clarion in January, 1953.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. Fischer on January 18, 1916 at the Sacred Heart church in Eagle Grove. To this union eleven children were born, 5 boys and 6 girls. Eight of whom survive. Francis of Clarion, Donald of Belmond, Mrs. Kirk Lewis (Ethel) of New Richmond, Wis., Elizabeth and Everett of Clarion, Mrs. Howard Studer (Viola) of Des Moines, Mrs. Lloyd Steffenson (Helen) of River Falls, Wis., and Richard of Kanawha, Iowa. Also, by 16 grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers, Mrs. Clara Rink of Alamitos, Calif., Steve of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Vern Hay (Marie) of Fort Dodge, Emil of Alturas, Calif., and (Catherine) Mrs. Harry DeMartini of San Francisco, Calif. He was preceded in death by his wife who died Feb. 28, 1951, and 3 children, Margaret, Robert and Gladys.

Funeral services were held July 29 at 9:30 in St. John's Catholic church, Clarion, with Msgr. Slowey officiating. Interment was in Calvary cemetery, Eagle Grove.

Th pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased, Carlyle Fischer, George Fischer, Wm. Fischer, Duane Trausch, Paul Trausch and Kenneth Trausch. Those attending from a distance were Mrs. Ben Doering of Edwards, Ill., Mrs. Herman Nemitz, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ganiere and Lois of New Richland, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Earl Smith and Mrs. Margaret Smith of Des Moines.
