Patrick Murphy Sullivan
December 13, 1910 — February 27, 1984

Patrick Murphy Sullivan, the son of Joseph and Eva Dixon Sullivan, was born on December 13, 1910 at Long Pine, Neb. He grew up in Nebraska and worked as a ranch hand. In 1937, he moved to the Eagle Grove area and was employed on the Bawn and Emerson Farms for many years. On March 8, 1942 he was united in marriage with Iline Nelson at Eagle Grove. During his life, he was a farmer, worked at the Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge, was employed in Humboldt a few years and then was a self-employed painter until he retired. For the past five years, Pat and Iline have lived in Thor. The family are members of the St. John's Catholic Church in Vincent.

He died at the Trinity Regional Hospital in Fort Dodge on Monday afternoon, February 27, 1984 at the age of 73 years, two months and 14 days.

He is survived by his wife, Iline Sullivan of Thor; three daughters and son-in-laws, Gerald and Judith Schumacher of Clare, Iowa; James and Margaret Behnkendorf of Geneseo, Ill.; Becky Jo and Everett Vardaman of Oregon, Ill.; six grandchildren: Audra, Brenda, Amy, Angela and Sarah Schumacher and Brian Behnkendorf; two sisters, Mrs. Catherine Lichty of Big Timber, Mont, and Mrs. Frank (Mollie) Johnston of Portland, Ore.; three brothers, Roger Sullivan of Omaha, Neb.; Joseph Sullivan of Valentine, Neb. and Dennis Sullivan of Gridley, Calif, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Michael James and Joseph Michael; two brothers and infant sisters.

Funeral services for Patrick M. Sullivan were held Wednesday, Feb. 29, 1984 at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Rev. Fr. Clem Currans, pastor of the St. John's Catholic Church of Vincent officiating and burial was in the Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Rosary services were held on Tuesday evening at 8 p.m. at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home.
