Peter M. Sadler

Peter M. Sadler was born Aug. 11, 1870 at Cabery, Ill., to Margaret and Peter Sadler, and died Nov. 1, 1949 at the age of 79 years, 2 months and 20 days.

He came to Iowa with his parents as a small boy and settled on a farm 5 miles east and 2 miles south of Eagle Grove, where he grew to manhood.

On April 9, 1896 he was united in marriage to Katherine Thielen. Four children were born to this union, Theodore of near Clarion, Fred of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Chas. Wanken and Nick Sadler of Eagle Grove.

In 1903 the family moved to Eagle Grove where they lived for one year then returned to the farm when they lived until 1914. At that time, they sold the farm and moved to a farm near, Lisbon, N. D. They returned to Iowa in 1917 and settled in Eagle Grove where they have made their home ever since.

Besides his wife and four children he leaves to mourn, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Susan Klock of Carrington, N. D., and one brother, A. A. Sadler of Milford, Mich. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mrs. Nick Schlader and Mrs. Leon Martin, and two brothers, Nick and Henry.

Funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at Sacred Heart church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. R. P. Murphy of Corwith officiating. Burial was in Calvary cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews, Frank Sadler, Matt Sadler of Eagle Grove, Joe Reiland of Clarion, Ted Thielen of Eagle Grove, Joe Nilles of Duncombe and Edward Thielen of Williams.

Nilles of Gilmore City, Mrs. Elizabeth Nilles and Joe of Duncombe, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fetrow of Duncombe, Mr. and Mrs. Joe McDonald of Webster City, Miss Eva Thielen of Mason City, Christina and Edward Thielen of Williams, Leon Martin from Canada, Mrs. Clarence Cropsy of Worland, Wyo., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Sadler, Renwick, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Frakes, Goldfield, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Reiland, Mr. and Mrs. John Keppers and Mr. and Mrs. Don Sadler, all of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. C. N. Norris and family of Elgin, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Robert Norris of Denver, Colo., Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sadler and Darlene of Council Bluffs, Mr. and Mrs. T. H. Alter of Webster City, Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Larick of Clarion, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Keppers, Renwick, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Sadler, of Blairsburg.
