Jennie "Jane" Marshall Shea
January 9, 1887 — May 25, 1931

A heart attack proved fatal to Mrs. Thomas E. Shea, 44, Monday noon. She was found unconscious on the kitchen floor of her home on East Broadway by her son, Leo, when he came home from school. A doctor was called but life was extinct when he arrived. Mr. Shea was working in the vicinity and was home about the time the doctor arrived.

Monday morning, Mrs. Shea was working in the basement of her home, doing the family washing and having completed this work was in the kitchen preparing the noonday meal when the fatal illness struck her.

Mrs. Shea is survived by her husband and six children. The children are: Ruth, Edward, Veronica, Joan, Leo, Marie. She is also survived by her three sisters, Mrs. Carrie Bernard and Mrs. George Haskins of this city, Mrs. Rudolph Penno; two brothers, George and Ed. Marshall of Woolstock.

Mrs. Shea was an ideal homemaker and a fine mother, sparing no pains to make her family comfortable and to provide them with the comforts of life. The news of her sudden passing was received with genuine regret and the sincerest sympathy of everyone is extended the sorrowing husband and children, who must carry on without the tender care of the wife and mother.

Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at Sacred Heart church. Burial was in Calvary cemetery.
