Peter Tamlen Lund was born in Thor on October 21, 1909 and was the son of Helge H. and Belle Risdahl Lund. He was raised and attended school in the area of his birth, until he reached the eighth grade. After the eighth grade, he worked on the family farm and later as a hired hand for area farmers.

He married Esther L. Rhiner at Kamrar, March 14, 1936. In 1947 they moved to a farm east of Elm Lake near Clarion. She died in 1984. He remained on the farm until last spring when he moved to Clarion. He had been a patient at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, for about two weeks.

He was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Clarion, and Evergreen Sporting Association.

Peter T. Lund, 83, of Clarion, died at Mercy Medical Center, Sunday afternoon, October 25, 1992.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and two brothers. He is survived by a son, Gary and his wife, Caroline of rural Clarion; a daughter, Susan and her husband, Steve Duffee of Boone; four grandsons; a brother, Harold of Thor; and a sister, Iona Kvale, also of Thor.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. from First Lutheran Church in Clarion with the Rev. William Granger officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield. The Willim Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
