Duane Cletus Anderson
February 5, 1918 --- June 12, 1988

Duane Cletus Anderson was born February 5, 1918, in Humboldt County, Iowa, near LuVerne. He was the son of Frank P. and Elizabeth Larson Anderson. His family moved to Wright County soon after his birth, and he was educated in rural schools, and Goldfield High School where he graduated in 1935. On September 14, 1940, he was united in marriage to Bette Jergensen of Goldfield. They farmed until moving into Goldfield in 1963. He was then employed in sales work, retiring in 1980. He spent his entire lifetime in Wright County. Duane was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield, the Izaak Walton League, past member of the Renwick School Board, the Goldfield Businessmens Club, and the Goldfield Improvement Association.

Duane passed away at the Clarion Community Hospital on Sunday, June 12, 1988, following a lengthy illness with cancer, at the age of 70 years, 4 months, and 7 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Sherbo.

He is survived by his wife, Bette, Goldfield; sons, Ron, his wife, Kyle, and children, Jill, Heather, Jeff, and Brandon, Rochester, Minn., and Larry, his wife, Char, and children, Kris and Erik, Irvine, Calif.; daughters, Pam, Mrs. Bruce Bean and daughter, Mareh, San Francisco, Calif., and Judy, Mrs. Paul Sherbo, and children, Allison and Kate, Long Beach, Calif.

Funeral services for Duane C. Anderson were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 14, at the United Presbyterian Church, Goldfield, Iowa. The Rev. Victor V. Victoria officiated with burial in the Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield, Iowa
