Fred Cody died Sunday morning, after an illness of some duration. The remains were laid to rest in Glenwood cemetery, Monday.

Fred Cody living west of town, who had been at Independence for some time, returned about two months ago and since that time has gradually been growing worse until last Sunday morning when death came to his relief. The funeral took place at the home Monday at 11 a.m.
