July 2, 1874 ---- 28 November 1939J. HUMPHREYS DIES TUESDAY IN CANADA
Remains of Former Resident will be Brought Here for Burial in Rose Hill CemeteryJohn B. Humphreys, 58, died at his home in Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, Tuesday evening, Nov. 28. Mr. Humphreys was a brother of Mrs. Wm. Weinhold. The remains will be brought to Eagle Grove for burial. Due to Canadian regulations, they will be unable to leave for the states with the body until tomorrow, Dec. 1. Mrs. Humphreys and one sister, Mrs. Weinhold, survive. One brother, Wm. A. and one sister, Mary Humphreys McCausland, preceded him in death.
As a young man, Mr. Humphreys engaged in farming with his father, the late C. C. Humphreys and later on operated farms for himself. For several years after he left the farm, he lived in Eagle Grove where he was in charge of tank wagon service for the Standard Oil Company. About 23 years ago he moved to Claresholm, Canada, where he was engaged in farming.

Funeral services for John Humphreys of Claresholm, Alberta, Canada, will be held this afternoon at
2 o'clock, at the Congregational church with the Rev. A. S. Kilbourn in charge. Burial will be in Rose Hill cemetery. Mr. Humphreys died Tuesday, Nov. 28.Eagle Grove Eagle --- Eagle Grove, Iowa
