Emma Morris Wilson
2 November 1869 --- 7 February 1955

Emma Morris was born November 2, 1869, at Gainesville, Ozark County, Missouri and passed away Monday, February 7, 1955, at the Clarion hospital at the age of 85 years. She moved with her parents from Gainesville to Houston, Missouri in a covered wagon, while she was a child. She received the Christian Baptism in her youth, administered by a pastor in the Christian church. She was married to Perry Pults and moved to Clarion, Iowa. Mr. Pults died at Clarion.

On July 9, 1909 she was married to Robert E. Wilson at Clarion, and they lived on their farm home near Clarion until in 1930, when they retired to Eagle Grove, where Mr. Wilson died in 1938.

Mrs. Wilson suffered a stroke December 29, 1952 and has been bed fast continuously since then. She lived for some time at the Askvig-Crickmore Rest Home and for some time at the Pauline Van Sickle Rest Home. On January 29, 1955 she suffered another stroke and was taken to the Clarion hospital, where she passed away last Monday.

She is now survived by four grandchildren, viz Kenneth Reeder, Davenport, Iowa; Robert E. Reeder, Eagle Grove; Roy Reeder, Fort Dodge; and Mrs. Gladys Thorn, Eagle Grove; and five great grandchildren. Gladys Thorn was raised by her grandma Wilson, as her mother died while she was an infant. She watched over her grandmother constantly and loved her tenderly as though she were her real mother. She spent much time caring for her during the prolonged illness.

It was our privilege to minister to Mrs. Wilson, a pleasant opportunity indeed, for she appreciated to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Feb. 10 from the Kastler Funeral Home. Burial was made in Rose Hill Cemetery.

She was a great lover of flowers, her beautiful yard being her pride and glory as long as she was able to keep it up. She was a lover of her home, family, and neighbors always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone needing her.
