Mabel Diane Olson
20 March 1902 --- 19 November 1980

Mabel Diane Olson, the daughter of Ole F. and Martha Olson, was born in Norway Township, Wright County, Iowa, on March 20, 1902. She died on Monday afternoon November 17, 1980, at the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. She attained the age of 78 years, seven months, and 27 days.

Mabel attended the Wright County rural schools. She was baptized and confirmed in the St John's Lutheran Church near Kanawha. After the death of her parents, she made her home with her brother, Melvin F. (Dub) Olson. They lived and farmed in Norway Township near Kanawha, for many years. In June 1973, they retired and moved to Eagle Grove. For the past year, Mabel had been a resident of the Rotary Ann Home in Eagle Grove. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Sadie Riley of Eagle Grove; Nora, Mrs. Ralph Peterson of Eagle Grove; Irene, Mrs. Everett Thompson of Jewell. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Florine McEwan and two brothers, Joe and Melvin, who died in September of 1980.

Funeral services for Mabel D. Olson were held at the Kastler-Babcock Funeral Home in Eagle Grove on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 19, at 1:30 p.m. Rev. Randall Bullo, associate pastor of the Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church officiated, and burial was in the family lot at Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove. Visitation was held at the funeral home on Tuesday.
