Livie Johnson
25 October 1877 --- 4 June 1971

Livie Johnson was born on October 25, 1877 in Ordall, Norway to Ole and Elsie Sampson Johnson. She was baptized into the triune faith shortly after birth. On January 17, 1892 she renewed her baptismal covenant through the rite of confirmation at Stavanger, Ill., Rev. J. A. Hillestred officiating. She died on June 4, 1971 at the home of her niece, Miss Edna Jergenson in Eagle Grove, after reaching the age of 93 years, 7 months, and 10 days.

Miss Johnson came to the United States in 1883 making her home first in Norway, Ill. and then moving to Marseilles. She moved to Eagle Grove in 1930 where she made her home with her sister and husband, the late Mr. and Mrs. Ole Jergenson. She had made her home with her niece, Miss Jergenson, for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Johnson; two sisters, Ellen Howell and Celia Norem. Those who mourn her departure are three brothers: Samuel, Ed, and Oscar Johnson of Marseilles, Ill., one sister, Mrs. John Pearson, Marseilles, Ill.

Funeral services were held June 7 at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. H. W. Schiller and Rev. W. E. Carlson, interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Wilson Funeral Home.
