Mary Beatrice “Bea” Wilson McCurry
6 August 1926 ---- 15 September 2017

Mary Beatrice “Bea” Wilson McCurry, 91, passed away on September 15, 2017 in Avon Lake, Ohio. Bea was born on August 6, 1926 in Bellflower, Illinois to Renix and Martha Wilson. She moved with her family to LuVerne, Iowa when she was a child. Bea married William “Bill” Howard McCurry in Renwick on November 4, 1945. They lived on the family farm near Renwick and raised 3 daughters: Lana (Glen) Givan of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Lynne (Keith) Kjelden of Denver, Colorado; and Kim (Dave) Stoakes of Webster City, Iowa. When Bea and Bill retired from farming, they moved to Humboldt, where they lived until moving to Webster City. Bea moved to Ohio in 2011, where she resided until her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers – Hollis Wilson and Dewey Wilson; sisters – Velma Renenger, Geneva Bruns and Bonnie Medlang; and her husband, Bill.

Besides her daughters, Bea is survived by her sister Marjorie Rath of Lone Rock and her sister-in-law Ruth McCurry of Clarion. She is also survived by her grandchildren – Natalie Swanson (Carleton Dolezal) of Littleton, Colorado; Shawn Givan (Lauren) of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Andrea Fix of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Daniel Stoakes of Richardson, TX; Doug Stoakes of Ames, Iowa; Kelly Stoakes and Devon Stoakes of Webster City, Iowa. Also surviving are great grandchildren – Aejae Fix, Charlie Dolezal, Kasen Fix, and Wilson Givan.

Bea will always be remembered by her children and grandchildren for her delicious chocolate cake (that none of us can duplicate) and her oh-so-yummy chocolate chip cookies that were even good frozen solid. She was a great mom who worked hard most of her life and we are happy that she can now finally get the rest she deserves.

Per Bea’s request, a private family service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
