Helen Throntveit, 80, Webster City

Helen Norene Throntveit born November 24th, 1933 in Thompson, Iowa to Alfred and Luella (Sperring) Halverson joined our Father in Heaven on July 16th, 2014. Memorial services are Wednesday at 2pm at Trinity Lutheran Church.

She was raised and went to school in the Forest City area. She married Thomas Marion Throntveit on April 1st, 1950. Out of this union 5 children were born. Larry (Kay) Throntveit, Webster City, Gary (Carol) Throntveit, Worland, Wyoming, Martha (Vernon) Brown, Seymour, Iowa, Jodi (Carl) Rainey, Newton, Iowa, and Michael (Chris) Throntveit, Eagle Grove.

Helen and Thomas moved to Webster City in 1953. Helen worked at Morton’s Frozen Food. She was also a cook at Golden Age Nursing Home, Southfield Care Center, Webster City Junior High, Kountry Fried Chicken, and the Hamilton County Hospital.

Grandchildren are Michelle, Sherri, Treasa, Tammy, Heidi, Jacob, Heth, Jashanna, Thomas, Timothy, Rhonda, Becky, Ronnie and families. She has 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews and several dear friends. Brother Richard Johnson, Sister Donna Anderson, Brother-in-law Duane Geerdes.

Preceded in death by her husband Thomas in 1987, her beloved son Larry in 2005, son-in-law Vernon in 2013; three brothers, two sisters, parents Alfred and Getta Halverson, Luella and John Johnson, mother-in-law Martha Throntveit and her very dear friend Audrey Severson.

Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and Yahtzee with her children and grandchildren. She also loved to quilt and cook for anyone that stopped to visit. She was never seen without a smile and was loved by all that knew her. She was involved in the Ladies Auxiliary and a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
