Mrs. M. S. Olson died suddenly at her home here on Friday evening at 10:30. Mrs. Olson has been subject to severe heart attacks for the past two years and on Friday evening one came from which no medical aid could bring her relief. Mrs. Olson has made her home in this community for the past forty years and in that time has made a circle of friends that is limitless and the Christian influence of her life will always be felt by all who came in contact with her.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and Rev. L. A. Hudson, Mrs. Olson’s pastor who has made his home with the Olson family during his pastorate here, had charge of the service. Burial was held in the Glenwood cemetery.

Isabelle Stenerson [Stanerson] was born to Martha and John Stenerson [Stanerson] at Morris, Ill. on Feb. 24, 1865, and passed away at her home in Goldfield, May 5, 1933, at the age of 65 years, 2 months and 11 days. In early childhood she moved with her parents to Polk county, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. On Feb. 26, 1886 she was united in marriage to M. S. Olson of Woodward. To this union were born two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Clara Aiken of Carroll, Mrs. Hattie Pletcher of Clarion, Clifford Olson of Goldfield and Harley Genevius who passed away in infancy. Mr. and Mrs. Olson moved into Woodward in 1888 where they made their home for five years. In 1893 they moved to Wright county, two miles east of Goldfield, where they lived until 1925. Since then, they have made their home in Goldfield.

Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband M. S. Olson, two daughters, one son, eight grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Lundy of Slater and Mrs. Louise Johnson of Onamia, Minn.

This home through the years has been a refuge for the unfortunate and those in need. Many have made their home with Mr. and Mrs. Olson until they reached the years of maturity. Those best known to the Goldfield community are Adolph Kvale of Des Moines and Violet Ulstead who passed away while still a young girl.

Mrs. Olson knew the struggles of pioneer life, and she was equal to the demand of such a life. In daily living with friends and neighbors, she proved that she possessed the rare quality of good will to all and malice toward none. She was quick to rebuke wrong and as quick to recognize what imperfections might have been her own. Loving, forgiveness, sacrificial to the end we knew her as one knew by her own experience the meaning of the abundant life. Always a Christian, she found her greatest joy in serving her Lord and Savior. She was a charter member of the Goldfield Church of Christ and a tower of strength and spiritual uplift to all those who knew her. Mrs. Olson was one of that little group who in the beginning sacrificed and labored that the church might be. Through relatives, friends, neighbors and the church she still speaks to us. To say she will be missed does not speak all the heart feels. There are some things that cannot be said in words.

Relatives from out of town who attended the service were: Mr. and Mrs. Louis Aiken and two sons of Carroll, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Pletcher and daughters of Clarion, Adolph Kvale and Miss Edith Olson of Des Moines, Mrs. Helen Lundy and Joseph Sheldahl of Kelly, Mrs. Andrew Gord of Cylinder, Mr. and Mrs. Silas Lundy of Wallingford, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Urn Burkhart of Woodward, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Larsen of Belmond, Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Risvold and son of Minneapolis, O. Risvold and Mrs. H. Hogonson of Humboldt. –Goldfield Section
