Clara Belle (Knight) Snider (1871-1954)

Clara Belle Snider, 83, who for the last 21 years was engaged in home missionary work with her husband, Rev. William E. Snider, died yesterday in a local rest home.

Mrs. Snider, whose home was at 631 26th avenue, was in poor health for the last seven years. A native of New York, she attended Goldfield, Iowa, schools. In 1892 she married Rev. Snider there.

The couple traveled through the United States after leaving Goldfield, in 1901. They lived in Vancouver for a number of years before coming to California, in 1914. They settled in Santa Cruz 20 years ago.

Mrs. Snider was active in the Advent Christian church here.

Besides her husband she is survived by three daughters. Myrtle A. Lobb of British Columbia, Helen M. Brown of Pasadena, Miriam Hanson of Tustin; a son, J. Roscoe Snider of Inglewood; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending at White's mortuary.

Member of Advent Christian Church. Services will be conducted at White’s Chapel, 138 Walnut Ave., Saturday, Oct. 30th, at 10:30 a. m. with Rev. George A. Osman and Rev. Clayton Dillworth officiating. Interment in Oakwood cemetery. Friends are respectfully invited to attend.
