Died—At the home of her parents in Lake township, Friday, Nov. 29th, 1895, Miss Jessie M. Knight, aged 27 years and 14 days.

Miss Knight was born Nov. 15th, 1868, in the town of Murray, Orleans county, N. Y., where her early years were passed. In 1881 she came with her parents to this state and since that time her home has been in Lake township, where she was respected and loved by all who knew her.

For several years she had been an able and successful teacher in the public schools of Wright county. While teaching in Liberty township last winter her mind, unfortunately, became suddenly deranged and all efforts to restore her were in vain, and although for a time she seemed to improve mentally, her physical health failed continually. At last, that dread enemy consumption fastened upon her and soon ended her life.

We have laid her to rest, but we “sorrow not as those who have no hope." Winter's storms and summer's glad sunshine, spring's gentle showers and autumn’s jeweled frosts will pass unnoticed above her, for "the dead know not anything," but we know that she will rise again, the lips now cold will speak, tbe cheeks now blanched and sunken will bloom again in Eden's sunny clime, the tongue now palsied by death will be loosed in the Morning to sing the praise of Him she loved so well.

The funeral sermon was preached by Eld. Kortum, of Whittemore, Iowa, from Heb. 9, 27 and 28 verses.

Our loved one, we've laid thee to rest,
Thou wert weary and worn and tired.
May thy bed by cherubs be blest,
The archangel keep watch by thy side.

On this world of temptation and sin,
Thou hast closed thine eyes forever,
But when Eden's fair day shall begin,
They will open once more by Life's river

We are lonely and weary tonight,
Our hearts are borne down with sorrow.
That thou hast been laid from our sight,
But we know thou wilt wake on the morrow.

Then sleep on, take thy rest fair one.
Earth's shadows will soon flee away
The angels will call thee at dawn,
To the sweet's of eternity’s day
—A FRIEND
