Mariel G. LaRue was born [in Popejoy, Iowa] on August 19, 1921, to Dewey and Helen LaRue. Mariel G. Peterson, Caldwell, Idaho, formerly of Eagle Grove, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000, in Caldwell, at the age of 78.

Survivors include one daughter, Fran Asche, and husband, Ron, Caldwell; one son, Steve Butz, and
wife, Clarita, Ute, Iowa; four brothers, Harley, Eagle Grove, Boyd, Clarion, Marvin, Spencer, and Earl, Jewell; and one sister, Arlene, Eagle Grove. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; and twin sisters.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 24, 2000, at 11 a.m. at the Deer Flat Methodist Church in Caldwell, Idaho. She was cremated.
